Skill Level
This pattern is an advanced beginner to intermediate pattern. It uses simple, common stitches and techniques.

Recommended Yarn
Any worsted #4 yarn will make a beautiful scarf. You will need approximately 250-300 yards depending upon whether you are able to match gauge.

Notes
- Pattern is worked in rows.
- Ch 3 counts as a stitch.
- Leafhopper clusters are worked over the next stitch in a row with front post clusters worked around stitches that will also have dc worked into.
Gauge
With US size J/10 (6 mm) hook: 8 sts x rows 1-4 = 2″. Adjust your hook size if necessary to obtain gauge.
Special Stitches/Techniques
Leafhopper Clusters: *[yo, insert hook in front from right to left behind stem of st, yo, draw loop through & up to height of an htr) twice, yo, draw thru 4 loops **, skip next st., rep from * to ** around stem of next st; ending with yo, draw thru all 3 loops on hook.

Ch 23 or fdc 21 and skip row 1.
Row 1: Dc in 3rd chain from hook and in each ch across, turn (21 dc).
Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as dc), skip 1st st, 1 dc next st, *1 LCL over next st, 1 dc into each of next 3 sts; rep from * omitting 1 dc from last rep, turn (16 dc, 5 LCL).
Row 3: Ch 3 (counts as dc), skip 1st st, 1 dc each st across, working last dc on top of tch, turn (21 dc).
Row 4: Ch 3 (counts as dc), skip 1st st, *1 dc next 3 st, 1 LCL over next st; rep rom * ending with 1 dc in last 4 st (last st in top of tch), turn. (17 dc, 4 LCL).
Row 5: Ch 3 (counts as dc), skip 1st st, 1 dc each st across, working last dc on top of tch, turn (21 dc).
Rows 6-89: Repeat rows 2-5 (21 times).
Rows 90-91: Repeat rows 2 & 3 once more.
Fasten off. Weave in ends.
