Bunny Snuggler

The Bunny Snuggler is a fun amigurumi lovey mashup for little ones to snuggle with. It is made with bulky velvet yarn and a 5.5 mm hook. Add safety eyes or embroider them on if gifting to a young child.

Before You Start

Head, ears, arms, and legs worked in continuous rounds.

Snuggler worked in unturned, joined rounds.

Ch 1 does not count as a stitch.  

 

Pattern Instructions

Arms (make 2)

Rd 1: 6 sc into MC (6).

Rd 2: Inc x 6 around (12).

Rds 3-10: Sc in each st around (12).

Rd 11: (sc, dec) x 4 around (8).

Rds 12-17: Sc in each st around [6 rounds] (8).

Stuff arm and pinch the opening flat and work 4 sl sts across, ending with a sl st to fasten off.

Leave a long tail for attaching to snuggler body.

Legs (make 2)

Rd 1: 6 sc into MC (6).

Rd 2: Inc x 6 around (12).

Rd 3: (sc, inc) x 6 around (18).

Rds 4-6: Sc in each stitch around [3 rounds] (18).

Rd 7: (sc dec) x 6 around (12).

Rds 8-11: Sc in each stitch around [4 rounds] (12).

Row 12: Sc next 6, ch 1, turn (6).

Row 13: Sc next 6, ch 1, turn (6).

Row 14: Sc next st, dec x 2), sc last st (4).

Rd 15: Sc on side of ankle flap just made (into the end of row 13), sc next 6 sts, sc on other side of ankle flap (into the end of row 13), sc last 4 sts (12).

Rds 16-20: Sc in each st around [5 rounds] (12).

Fasten off.   Stuff paw and lightly stuff upper leg.

Continue to Snuggler Instructions for attaching legs to bottom of snuggler body.

Ears (make 2) [Do not stuff]

Rd 1: 5 sc into MC (5).

Rd 2: Inc x 5 around (10).

Rd 3: Sc in each st around (10).

Rd 4: (sc, inc) x 5 around (15).

Rds 5 & 6: Sc in each st around (15).

Rd 7: (2 sc, inc) x 5 around (20).

Rds 8-13: Sc in each st around [6 rounds] (20).

Rd 14: (2 sc, dec) x 5 around (15).

Rd 15: (sc, dec) x 5 around (10).

Pinch the opening flat and work 5 sl sts across closing ear, ending with a sl st to fasten off.

Leave a long tail for attaching to head.

Head

Rd 1: 6 sc in MC (6).

Rd 2: Inc x 6 around (12).

Rd 3: (Sc, inc) x 6 around (18).

Rd 4: (2 sc, inc) x 6 around (24).

Rd 5: (3 sc, inc) x 6 around (30).

Rd 6: (4 sc, inc) x 6 around (36)

Rds 7 & 8: Sc in each st around [2 rounds] (36).

Rd 9: (5 sc, inc) x 6 around (42).

Rds 10-12: Sc in each st around [3 rounds] (42).

Rd 13: (6 sc, inc) x 6 around (48).

Rd 14: (7 sc, inc) x 6 around (54).

Rd 15: Sc in each st around (54).

Rd 16: (7 sc, dec) x 6 around (48).

Rd 17: (6 sc, dec) x 6 around (42).

Rd 18: (5 sc, dec) x 6 around (36).

Rd 19: (4 sc, dec) x 6 around (30).

*Place eyes between rounds 13 & 14, about 10 sts apart.

*Place nose two rows below eyes.

*Begin stuffing head.

Rd 20: (3 sc, dec) x 6 around (24).

Rd 21: (2 sc, dec) x 6 around (18).

Rd 22: (Sc, dec) x 6 around (12).

*Add remaining stuffing as you work the next two rounds.

Rd 23: Sc in each st around (12).

Rd 24: Dec x 6 around (6).

Do not fasten off. 

Sew the ears with a needle and whipstitch to the head, counting from the center of the head three rounds down, between rounds 4-8.

Continue to Snuggler Instructions.

Snuggler

Begin working snuggler from round 24 of head. 

Snuggler body worked in slip stitch joined rounds.

Rd 1: Ch 1, hdc inc x 6 around, sl st join (12).

Rd 2: Ch 1, (hdc, hdc inc) x 6 around, sl st join (18).

Rd 3: Ch 1, (2 hdc, hdc inc) x 6 around, sl st join (24).

Rd 4: Ch 1, (3 hdc, hdc inc) x 6 around, sl st join (30).

Rd 5: Ch 1, (4 hdc, hdc inc) x 6 around, sl st join (36).

Rd 6: Ch 1, (5 hdc, hdc inc) x 6 around, sl st join (42).

Rd 7: Ch 1, (6 hdc, hdc inc) x 6 around, sl st join (48).

Rd 8: Ch 1, (7 hdc, hdc inc) x 6 around, sl st join (54).

Rds 9-11: Ch 1, hdc in each st around, sl st join (54).

Rd 12: Ch 1, (7 hdc, hdc dec) x 6 around, sl st join (48).

Rd 13: Ch 1, hdc in each st around, sl st join (48).

Rd 14: Ch 1, (6 hdc, hdc dec) x 6 around, sl st join (42).

Rd 15: Ch 1, hdc in each st around, sl st join (42).

Rd 14: Ch 1, (5 hdc, hdc dec) x 6 around, sl st join (36).

Rd 15: Ch 1, hdc in each st around, sl st join (36).

Rd 16: Ch 1, (4 hdc, hdc dec) x 6 around, sl st join (30).

Rd 17: Ch 1, hdc in each st around, sl st join (30).

Do not fasten off. 

You will attach legs while closing the bottom of the snuggler body.

Place leg next to the sts of the body, (join using needle and whip stitch being sure to pull yarn through all 3 sts); repeat five times.

Continue joining with needle whip stitch the opening between the legs closed (3 sts).

Place the second leg next to the sts of the body, (join using needle and whip stitch being sure to pull yarn through all 3 sts); repeat five times.

Using long tails, attach arms at the front of the snuggler body using a needle, whip stitch join in the second rounds of hdc stitches, counting from the head down.

Fasten off and weave in ends.
