Pattern Notes
* Advanced beginner to Intermediate.
* Written in US crochet terms.
* Finished Size: 10″ neck circumference
16″ chest circumference
14″ chest to tail
* Gauge: 12 sts and 9 rounds = 4″

Before You Start
* Worked in joined rounds and turned rows.
*C1 and C2 designate the changes in color throughout the project
* If using multiple colors (rounds) – Drop previous yarn and pick up new color at the beginning of the round, being sure to carry the yarn up the inside of the sweater.
*If using multiple colors (rows) – When working rows, fasten off and start new color at the beginning of each round, weaving in ends when finished.
* Ch 3 does count as a stitch.
* Ch 1 does not count as a stitch.


Special Stitches
HDC Cluster – YO, insert your hook, YO, pull up a loop. YO, insert your hook into next ch/st, YO, pull up a loop. YO and pull through all
five loops on your hook.

Sc3flo – Single crochet into the 3rd front loop (2nd horizontal bar down) of the hdc stitch only.

Sc3blo – Single crochet into the 3rd back loop (2nd horizontal bar down) of the hdc stitch only.

Hdc3flo – Half Double Crochet into the 3rd front loop (2nd horizontal bar down) of the hdc stitch only.

Pattern Instructions

Ch 34 and join to 1st chain.
Alternatively, you can Fsc 34, join to 1st fsc and skip round 1.
Rd 1 (C1): Sc in 2nd chain from hook and each ch around, join to 1st sc. (34)
Rd 2 (C2): Ch 3, dc last st of previous rd, (skip next st, dc next st, dc skipped st) repeat from ( ) around, join. (17 crossed dc)
Rd 3 (C1): Ch 1, 2sc in first 2 sts, sc in each st around, join. (36)
Rd 4 (C2): Ch 1, (hdc cluster, ch 1) repeat from ( ) around, join. (18 hdc clusters)
Rd 5 (C1): Ch 1, 2sc3blo, 2sc in ch st, (sc3blo, sc in ch st), repeat from ( ) around, join. (19 sc3blo, 19 sc)
Rd 6 (C1): ch 3, 2 link stiches in next 4 sts, 1 link stitch in next 2 sts, ch 5, sk 5 sts, tr in next st, 1 link stitch in next 19 sts, ch 5, sk 5 sts, tr in next st, 1 link stitch in last st, join. (30 link stitches, 2 tr, 10 ch) [See photo tutorials for link stitch and joining link stitches]

Rd 9 (C1): Ch 1, (sc3blo, sc in ch st), repeat from ( ) around, join. (24 sc3blo, 24 sc)
Rd 10 (C2): Repeat round 2. (24 crossed dc)
Rd 11 (C1): Ch 1, sc in each st around, join. (52)
Rd 12 (C2): Repeat round 8. (26 hdc clusters)
Rd 13 C1): Repeat round 9. (52)
Rd 14 (C1): Ch 3, link stitch in each st around, join. (52 link stitches)
